A magical story underlies the beauty and quality of the burl, the lead player in the VERSAILLES collection. It is the story of Ferrara walnut. In the Ferrara area, the walnut trees planted in rows as support for the vines were
pollarded, which facilitated the formation of bumps around the trunk and shoots at the foot. It is these very irregularities that give this burl such a unique nature, today increasingly difficult to find and therefore more and more prized.
